Approach of Curriculum

Five ideas that shape how we teach.

Every classroom at PBS is built around these five principles — the ideas that have guided our teaching since 1998.

01 — Active Thinking

Teaching focused on PBS's unique thinking development.

The teaching and learning approach at PBS emphasizes the development of critical and creative thinking through three core principles:

  • Developing Thinking Skills and Application Abilities — fostering metacognition to help students understand, reflect on, and enhance their thought processes.
  • Thinking in Action — translating ideas and thought processes into practical applications.
  • Awareness of the Impact of Thinking — recognising how thoughts influence themselves, others, society and the world.
02 — Cultivating Awareness

Building self, social, and global awareness.

  • Awareness of Self — developing mindfulness and metacognition to encourage self-reflection throughout learning and life.
  • Awareness of Society — analyzing the effects of societal changes and fostering understanding of one's role within them.
  • Awareness of the World — encouraging students to evaluate their impact on global changes and consider their responsibilities to the planet.
03 — Bilingual Curriculum

A bilingual approach supporting deep learning.

The teaching methodology integrates Thai and English as complementary tools for learning, ensuring that both languages reinforce one another.

This approach leads to deeper understanding and promotes an English-speaking environment, which helps students achieve an accent that is approximately 70% native-like.

04 — Innovation through Historical Theme Studies

Project-based integrated learning.

The integrated teaching approach through project-based learning helps students:

  • Explore questions born from curiosity.
  • Actively seek information.
  • Build understanding relevant to real-life contexts, both past and present.

This method integrates content and skills within and across subjects, enabling students to create innovative solutions effectively.

05 — 4E Learning

Aligned to each developmental stage.

The 4E Learning model is designed to align instruction with each student's developmental stage and learning — Engage, Explore, Explain, and Evaluate. It turns curiosity into competence at every age.

PBS Values
